About

I'm Alex Wilson. I spent over two decades building automation systems. Tools that took tedious, repetitive work and made it disappear so people could focus on what actually mattered.

Now I'm doing the same thing, but for a different audience.

If you're a writer, a musician, a filmmaker, someone who makes things, you already know the problem. The work that surrounds the work. Invoices, websites, email lists, file management, social scheduling, SEO. None of it is why you got into this. All of it eats your time.

That's what I call the creative tax, and AI can handle most of it.

Uncreative Work is where I share what I'm learning as I build tools for exactly this. I'm building Headstring Web, a website engine designed to get creative professionals online without code or complexity. I'm building an AI writing assistant. And I'm documenting the whole process here. What works, what doesn't, and what's actually worth your attention in a landscape full of hype.

This isn't a tech blog. It's a workshop notebook from someone who believes your craft deserves your full attention, and that the right tools can give it back to you.
